Włoskie Tarasy Warsaw wayfinding system

Włoskie Tarasy is a residential building project developed in Warsaw within the Włochy district at Popularna 60 Street.

The wayfinding system we prepared for this building is based primarily on a limited, minimalistic black and white color scheme. It harmonizes with both the building’s interior and exterior environment, and fits in with the minimalist design of the interior architecture and garage space.

A sans-serif Silka font in Bold and Medium versions was also selected for the designed signage. This font, designed by Studio Atipo, is characterized by clearly visible symmetry and simplicity. Despite its conservative form, it is interesting and worked well in smaller directional messages as well as in large-scaled environmental graphics. The shapes of the individual glyphs were also an inspiration for a small set of original pictograms.

The elements of the signage system consist of a variety of directional, informational and environmental graphics – made of spatial elements of varying thickness or flat graphics built from lines of different thicknesses – which creates intersecting dynamic surfaces.
