The four-star Glar Conference & SPA Hotel is located on the shore of Lake Wiselka. It is only a few kilometres from Międzyzdroje and 1.5 kilometres from the Baltic sea shore. The hotel’s interiors, colour palette, natural and noble materials and tasteful decorations selected by Noke Architects draw inspiration from the Wolin nature and local traditions and crafts. The whole creates a soothing, relaxing and at the same time deeply authentic space in which one relaxes with the greatest pleasure.
The signage system we prepared for the place became an additional extension to this atmosphere. The wayfinding elements in the common spaces build a consistent, unobtrusive feeling and make it easy for users to navigate the facility. The graphic section of the design is minimalist and the materials used for the signage elements are of high quality. As part of the development of the wayfinding system design, an original set of pictograms was created, as well as a series of consistent markings for many hotel spaces.
Detail plays an important role in them – many of the information carriers and signage feature the characteristic ‘wave’, which was taken from the hotel’s logo. The visual stylistics and typography used in the system (Euclid Flex by Swiss Typefaces) is also linked to the Hotel’s branding, which was developed by the Walk with David studio. This ensures that the overall experience and interaction with the brand leaves an impression of consistency.
